Capt. Robert D. Logan

Robert D. Logan was elected captain of Company A on Sept. 15, 1862.

He was born the youngest of three brothers, all who served in the confederate forces during the war. 

Capt. Logan participated in General John H. Morgan's Ohio raid and was captured at Cheshire, Ohio on July 20, 1863. He was imprisoned at the Ohio State Penitentiary for about fifteen months. He was transferred to Morris Island, S.C. where he was eventually exchanged.

After the war he returned to Boyle county and with his brothers engaged successfully in farming. He never married.

He died June 25, 1896 at an age of sixty-seven years.
